"The Singing Water" exemplifies the universal language
of music, quenched and thirst by many who come in contact with
our
consuming waters of knowledge and wisdom given to us by God.
Therefore, let all of mankind quench
their thirst for the singing water of calming, streaming, everflowing
sounds of "Kekaniwai."...A thirst that will keep you thirsty...
Kekaniwai is made up of musicians
from both our Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and Halau Kahulaliwai,
and sister Halau Hiva Nui Na Pua O Ka Honua. The band first played
together, jam style, and realized they enjoyed playing together
so much, it was only fitting they form this wonderful band, who
received their namesake from Kumu Kamalani.
Winners of the 2006 Ka La Hula I Reno musicians competition, Kekaniwai is comprised of Eddie Kamana Ane, Freddie Aynaga and Oscar Aban; the group
gets together and jams to all styles of music. Hawaiian, both traditional
and contemporary hits are always their favorite, but they've also
been known to rock out on occasion. They can be found usually practicing
for shows or just jamming at a party.
Either way, the stylings of Kekaniwai are sure to leave your heart
warm, and your ears "thirsty" for more...
The band is available for bookings, contact Sandra
